Morrisville State College Leadership AwardsNew

Morrisville State College offers two scholarships, one that is available to any active FBLA member and an additional one for State and National Officers of FBLA.

Eligible Students: New and Continuing Students

An active FBLA-PBL member who has applied or is presenting attending Morrisville State College is eligible for a $250 scholarship per semester. A GPA minimum of 2.5 is required to maintain the scholarship and is renewable each semester of attendance. The total value of the scholarship award for an associates degree candidate is a maximum of $1,000 and for a baccalaureate degree candidate the maximum award is $2,000.

For State or National Officers
Students who serve as an FBLA-PBL state or national officer who have applied or are attending Morrisville State College are eligible for both the Active Member $250 per semester award and an additional $1,000 per semester scholarship. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required to maintain eligibility. The total award at the associates degree level cannot exceed $5,000 and at the baccalaureate degree level the maximum total award is $10,000.

Mount Ida College

Mount Ida College is pleased to offer scholarships to members of FBLA-PBL. Active members of FBLA-PBL shall be eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship toward their full-time undergraduate degree pursuit at Mount Ida College.

Eligibility: Active members of FBLA-PBL that are applying as either a new student or transfer student to study in any full-time undergraduate program of study at Mount Ida College shall be considered eligible for the FBLA-PBL scholarship.

Criteria: Students must be active members of FBLA-PBL and indicate their involvement on their application for admission. Students should include information about any leadership positions held and community service activities performed as a member of FBLA-PBL.

Application Deadline: Students that are accepted to Mount Ida College prior to May l each year shall be eligible for this scholarship.

National Technical Honor Society_logo

National Technical Honor Society

The National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) is offering two $1,000 scholarship exclusively for FBLA-PBL members.

Eligibility: Applicant must be a dues-paid member of FBLA-PBL and a member in good standing of NTHS.

Application Receipt Deadline: April 1

   • To apply, schools must have an active NTHS chapter, which includes submission of a charter application and approval from the school administration.
   • Applicants must be in 10th grade or higher (scholarship will be held for three (3) years).
   • Scholarship may only be used for post-secondary education.
   • Scholarship funds will be sent to the winner’s chosen post-secondary school after he/she is enrolled at that institution.
   • A fully completed application must be submitted by the deadline date. Applications with incomplete information will be void.

Please Note: In addition to the scholarships that NTHS is providing exclusively for FBLA-PBL, NTHS provides the Jon H. Poteat Scholarships. All members in good standing of NTHS are eligible for these scholarships. Over $125,000 in $1,000 scholarships will be awarded for the 12-13 school year. Northwood University Transfer Club Scholarship

PBL members wishing to transfer to Northwood who are active in the PBL chapter of the school you plan to transfer from are eligible for a Transfer Club Scholarship.

Eligibility requirements vary from campus to campus depending on a student’s eligibility for other institutional aid. Complete the Business Club Scholarship application at www.northwood.edu/sharedmedia/PDF/FinancialAid/BusClubApplication.pdf.

PBL Distinguished Business Leader Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to recognize outstanding PBL members for their activity and involvement in the association. The number of scholarships given depends on yearly contributions to the PBL scholarship fund.

Application Receipt Deadline: April 1

Individual Award: Determined by amount collected.

   • Open to PBL members who plan to continue to pursue a postsecondary or postgraduate education.
   • Must be dues-paid members of PBL.
   • Must have achieved the Director Level of the CMAP program.

Application Procedure:
   • Each application must be accompanied by a one-page cover letter summarizing PBL, business, leadership, and community activities; a resume outlining PBL activities, educational achievements, etc. and two letters of recommendation—one from a chapter adviser and the other from a business/community leader.
   • Applications must meet all of the criteria to be considered.

PBL NLC/IFL Scholarships_logo

PBL NLC/IFL Scholarships

The PBL National Leadership Conference (NLC)/ Institute for Leaders (IFL) Scholarship is a program funded through the diversion of $1.00 of each member's national dues. The purpose of the scholarship is to award outstanding PBL members with scholarships that serve as leadership investments to assist members in attending the NLC or the IFL, which is held in conjunction with the NLC each year. The NLC Scholarship amount will be $400 and the IFL Scholarship will be $115.

Application Procedure: Members who wish to be considered for a PBL NLC or IFL scholarship must be on record as having paid local, state, and national dues by April 15 and submit an interactive application and accompanying materials by April 15 to the national center. Application Materials should include:
   • Transcript of Grades.
   • Two letters of Recommendation. One letter must be from the candidate's local or state PBL adviser. Each letter should be limited to no more than one page and should highlight the applicant's PBL activities and leadership skills.
   • One Page Essay. The topic for the essay is: 'How Has PBL Enhanced Your Leadership Skills?'

Webber International University Scholarship_logo

Webber International University Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes the involvement and activities of FBLA-PBL members. Webber International University (WIU) is offering fifteen (15) recurring $500 per semester scholarships to incoming FBLA students or active PBL members at WIU.

Application Deadline: Ongoing

Award Amount: $500 per semester, renewable

Eligibility: Open to any FBLA member enrolling at WIU. Applicants must be a dues-paid member of FBLA-PBL and must agree to be an active PBL member at WIU. WIU has set up a “Millionaire Points” program in which scholarship award winners must participate. Winners who qualify at PBL district competition will have their participation, room, and board paid at the PBL state competition. Winners qualifying at state will have their participation, room, and board paid at the PBL national competition. Scholarship award winners will be asked to sign a contract each year vowing their PBL participation.

Application Procedure: Applicants must complete the FBLA-PBL Scholarship Application Form and submit it with a letter of recommendation from their FBLA adviser. In addition, applicants must include a letter stating how or what contributions they could make to the WIU PBL chapter.

Wesleyan University Logo

Wesleyan College Scholarship—New

Scholarship Award
The scholarship is valued at $9,000 toward tuition at Wesleyan College, and is renewable every year for four years, eight semesters, if the student remains in good standing and maintains a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. While this cannot be combined with any other Wesleyan College sponsored scholarship, it can be replaced with a higher valued scholarship if the student meets additional qualifications. The Wesleyan FBLA Award scholarship recipient can supplement her Wesleyan scholarship with state and federal aid.

Admissions & Eligibility
Eligible high school seniors and transfer students may apply for the Wesleyan FBLA scholarship if they have completed requirements for the America level of the FBLA Business Achievement Awards. Eligible scholarship candidates also should possess a minimum SAT score of 1000 (combined Critical Reading and Math) or an ACT score of 21 (Composite) and a high school GPA of 3.0. Candidates who wish to be considered for the scholarship should apply for admission online at www.wesleyancollege.edu/apply and designate themselves as FBLA candidates by checking the appropriate box in the “How Did You Hear About Wesleyan” section.

To be considered, students must submit a completed Wesleyan College Undergraduate Admission Application, including high school and/or college transcripts, SAT/ACT scores, and letters of recommendation. To receive final scholarship award, recipients must submit a letter from FBLA stating completion of the America level of the FBLA Business Achievement Awards. Gary E. West Tuition Assistance ScholarshipNew

The Gary E. West College of Business at West Liberty University in northern West Virginia is pleased to offer the Gary E. West Tuition Assistance Scholarship to qualifying freshmen and transfer business students. This grant-funded scholarship provides up to $2,500 tuition credit annually for out-of-state students, renewable for four years as long as funds remain available. FBLA-PBL members interested in Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, Marketing, Management, Healthcare Management, Tourism and Event Planning, Sport Management, or Entrepreneurship are encouraged to apply at westliberty.edu/westbusiness/futurestudents/scholarships. West Scholarship funds can be combined with other university scholarship opportunities to meet tuition expenses.
